Commissioned Portrait Paintings by Alice DuBois | chicago childrens portrait studio

Many of you may have noticed and even met two friends of jookie this past summer who have been using the gallery space on Sundays over the past couple of months to show their affordable art pieces.  These talented artists are Tim Campbell and Alice DuBois.  I first met Alice through my brother Garth with whom she went to art school.  She did a GORGEOUS painting of my niece Amelie at age 3 from a photograph, pictured below.  She does commissioned portraits regularly, and I really wanted to share her terrific work, especially if anyone is interested in a painting of their child!  You can see more of Alice’s work here as well as her contact info (akdubois@hotmail.com).

Little Green Baby casting call Sneak Peek | chicago children’s photography

Last weekend we photographed four adorable kids for Little Green Baby’s casting call for web and print models announced a few weeks back.  The judge of the contest did a great job!  Not only were the kids all photogenic but fun and easy to work with even if they needed some warm-up time first.  They each had their own magical personality and really turned on the smiles throughout their individual sessions.  We were given full creativity in the shoots, and we utilized two backgrounds, both our natural light space (spruced up with a cute, blue screen from LGB’s store) and our crisp white background.  I can’t wait to see Little Green Baby’s new website and print materials to see what they do with the images.  I’m just so thrilled and flattered that jookie was able to be part of this creative collaboration.  I wish I could share all of the images now, but here at least is a sneak peek.  Stay tuned to Little Green Baby’s facebook page for the launch of their new website and more photographs of these fantastic little green models.

$820 raised for All Saints Episcopal Church Food Pantry | chicago kids photography studio

We just wanted to take a moment to thank the families who participated in our Spring Kids in the Square event (presented annually by Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce) for all their reorders of portraits captured during our “quick takes.”  We photographed in our new natural light space, and with these children’s help, we raised $820 for the food pantry at All Saints Episcopal Church!
